Rachel Strohl, Psy.D.

Dr. Strohl received her Bachelors degree in Psychology from George Washington University, Washington, DC. She graduated Summa Cum Laude and earned many distinguished honors, such as induction in Phi Beta Kappa and the Psychology Honors Program. She received her Masters of Psychology and Doctorate of Clinical Psychology at Rutgers University, Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology (GSAPP). She is a New Jersey licensed psychologist.
Previously, Dr. Strohl worked as a clinical psychology doctoral intern at University of Medicine and Dentistry (UMDNJ) - Robert Wood Johnson Medical School at University Behavioral HealthCare (UBHC). She worked at the Adolescent Therapeutic Day School conducting individual, family, and group therapy. In addition, she worked as a primary therapist in minor rotations at The Cancer Institute of New Jersey and the Employee Assistance Program.
Prior to her position at UMDNJ, Dr. Strohl gained experience through various practicum positions. At United Family & Children’s Society in Plainfield, NJ, she provided individual and family therapy to multicultural children, adolescents, and adults, conducted psychological evaluations, and led a DYFS-referred therapy group. She worked as a primary therapist for children and adolescents with a wide range of psychiatric disorders at UMDNJ-UBHC inpatient unit in Piscataway, NJ. At the Rutgers College Counseling Center, Dr. Strohl provided individual short and long-term therapy, conducted intake assessments, and designed and implemented outreach and consultation programs for the college campus and community. In addition, she was employed for several years at Carrier Clinic in Belle Mead, NJ as an Allied Service Counselor conducting therapy and coping-skill groups to the adolescent, adult, and geriatric inpatient units.
Throughout Dr. Strohl’s graduate training, she worked at the GSAPP Psychological Clinic providing individual cognitive-behavioral therapy through the CBT Clinic for Anxiety and Depression. She worked under the supervision and training of Dr. Allen Weg. Dr. Strohl also had the opportunity to co-lead several CBT groups focused on anxiety with Dr. Weg at Stress and Anxiety Service of NJ. She presently serves on the Board of Directors at the New Jersey Obsessive Compulsive Foundation.
Dr. Strohl’s office policies are described in the FAQs link on the Home Page of this website. Her fees for services are $230 for an initial evaluation, and $180 for a 45 minute individual therapy session.
