Rob Zambrano, Psy.D.

Robert Zambrano, Psy.D. received his Bachelors of Science from East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania.  He graduated Magna Cum Laude with academic and community honors such as induction into Psi Chi (the National Psychology Honorary) and Omicron Delta Kappa (the National Leadership Honorary).  Dr. Zambrano received his Masters of Psychology and Doctorate of Clinical Psychology from the Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology of Rutgers University.

In addition to being on staff at Stress and Anxiety Services of New Jersey, Dr. Zambrano also works for the Tourette Syndrome Program at Rutgers University.  There, he works with children with Tourette Syndrome and their related disorders (e.g., AD/HD, difficulties with emotional regulation and rage, OCD, etc.).  Dr. Zambrano gives presentations to educators and families across the state on behalf of the Tourette Syndrome Association of New Jersey.

 Previously, Dr. Zambrano served for three years as the program coordinator for the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Program for Anxiety Disorders and Depression at the Rutgers Psychological Clinic.  His responsibilities included assessment and intake of patients seeking treatment at the clinic, assigning clients to the appropriate clinician, and taking on the more challenging cases seeking treatment at the clinic.  Dr. Zambrano also participated in providing training materials and instruction on the use of assessment materials for beginning clinicians interested in learning more about the use of cognitive behavioral methods.  During this time Dr. William C. Sanderson, who has co-written various books and training manuals for the treatment of anxiety disorders, supervised him.  Dr. Zambrano’s doctoral dissertation focused on strategies utilized for the treatment of Panic Disorder.

Dr. Zambrano has also previously worked as a clinical psychology intern at Jacobi Medical Center.  He served on a major rotation as a clinician at a Continuing Day Treatment Program and a Bilingual (Spanish speaking) Inpatient Psychiatric Unit where he provided both individual and group psychotherapy.  He also served a minor rotation at the hospital’s psychiatric emergency room.  Afterwards, Dr. Zambrano worked as a staff therapist at Meadowview Psychiatric Hospital in Secaucus, NJ.

In addition, Dr. Zambrano has worked as a therapist at University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey at Newark’s University Behavioral Health Care-Partial Day Treatment Program for Adults.  Prior to this, he worked for the Foster Care Counseling Project, providing in home family and child/play therapy for foster children in the Trenton area.  Finally, he has worked for Youth Empowerment Strategies, teaching leadership and counseling skills to middle and high school students.

Dr. Zambrano’s office policies are described in the FAQs link on the Home Page of this website. His fee for services are $230 for an initial evaluation, and $180 for a 45-minute individual therapy session.
