Stress and Anxiety Services of New Jersey Opens New Office in Springfield NJ

Stress and Anxiety Services of New Jersey, LLC, presently consisting of 6 psychologists in our East Brunswick facility, has opened up a second office as of January 1, 2016, in Springfield in Union County, New Jersey. This will enable us to be more easily reached by those requiring our services who reside in the more northern section of our state.

The clinical staff for now consists of SAS of NJ Founder and Executive Director, Dr. Allen Weg, part time, and Dr. Charity Wilkinson, full time. Drs. Weg and Wilkinson both have been certified by the International OCD Foundation for the treatment of OCD through the Behavior Therapy Training Institute, and both have been certified by the Trichotillomania Learning Center through the Professional Training Institute for the treatment of Body Focused Repetitive Behaviors (BFRBs, such as Trichotillomania- compulsive hair pulling, and compulsive skin picking).

In addition, Dr. Wilkinson is trained in the treatment of PTSD. She has been trained in Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PE) at the Center for the Treatment and Study of Anxiety under Dr. Edan Foa, pioneering psychologist in the treatment of PTSD and OCD and named by Time Magazine as one of 100 most influential people. Dr. Wilkinson is also certified in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for PTSD, trained and supervised by Dr. Patricia Resick, the creator of CPT, expert psychologist, and former president of both The Association of Behavior and Cognitive Therapy, as well as the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies.

Drs. Weg and Wilkinson will also be available to make presentations in Union and surrounding counties for varied organizations and schools on most any topic related to the CBT treatment of anxiety disorders in children, adolescents and adults. Their contact information (see below) is the same telephone number and web site as for our East Brunswick office.

Stress & Anxiety Services of New Jersey is a specialized independent clinic with a focus on cognitive behavioral treatment of anxiety disorders, OCD spectrum disorders, and Body Focused Repetitive Behaviors (BFRBs, such as compulsive hair pulling or skin picking) in children, adolescents, and adults. SAS of NJ does not participate in any managed care panels and takes no insurance payments directly, most of our clients do receive out of network reimbursement if their plans allow for that.
