Why this image and tag line?

Stress and Anxiety Services of New Jersey, LLC chose this image and this tag line to represent the relationship that we have with our clients.  Most counseling and psychological services that deal with anxiety have websites filled with relaxing natural images like waterfalls, shorelines, streams, mountains and trees. The professionals at these practices limit their focus of treating anxiety difficulties by helping people learn how to relax. We do the same at our clinic, but we are also very aware that many anxiety difficulties arise from fear, and the best way to deal with fear is to face it, challenge it, and transcend it.  Only in this way does one truly experience a sense of empowerment that insulates against future potential problems with fear.

Moving towards the fear, rather than hiding or running from the fear

Whether it is the fear of getting a panic attack; fear of rejection or embarrassment in social situations; fears associated with memories or physical reactions related to a history of trauma; a phobia of heights, certain animals or insects, injections, or just about anything else; or the many different ways fears can manifest in Obsessive Compulsive Disorder; moving towards the fear, rather than hiding or running from the fear, is how one truly becomes free of the fear.

This is hard, and sometimes uncomfortable or even scary work. And it is ultimately something that you as the client have to do on your own - we cannot do it for you. But we at Stress and Anxiety Services of New Jersey know how to help make the journey to recovery more manageable.
